Karl Carter is Co-Founder & CEO of GTM, Inc. In this role, he focuses on the development of innovative marketing campaigns, media strategies, as well as the strategic growth of the company. With over 20 years of experience, an entrepreneurial spirit and a penchant for doing things differently, Karl is considered to be an expert guerilla marketer. Karl has been a strategist for truth®, TAG Body Spray, Current TV, Verizon & Nissan USA. In 2007, Karl was awarded the first ever Ad Color Innovator award by a distinguished panel of leaders in the advertising and media industry. Most recently, Karl and GTM have created and produced Smirnoff's Master of the Mix, a DJ competition reality show airing on a major cable network. Master of the Mix is blazing the trail in branded content and is the first platform of its kind to allow DJs around the world to showcase their talents and sub-culture. After completing two successful seasons, Master of the Mix is heading into its third season to crown the next true Master of the Mix.
Kembo Tom is Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer of GTM, Inc. As Chief Creative Officer, Kembo creates and develops innovative marketing and advertising programs that engage local, national, and international audiences. Kembo is also the Executive Producer, Co-Director and Co-Creator on "Master of the Mix" a competition reality show for DJ's powered by Smirnoff. Through creativity and the ability to identify youth sub-cultures, Kembo has created success for a number of GTM's marketing clients including truth™, TAG Body Spray, Current TV, Verizon & Nissan USA, just to name a few. Kembo's strength lies in his creativity and ability to identify with and young adult sub-cultures, while keeping a firm focus on the clients objective. While visiting several international ports to further his cultural understanding Kembo continues to seek out and explore the differences and celebrate the similarities, in us all.
Darius Evans currently serves as Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer of GTM, Inc., a national award winning 360° marketing and branded entertainment agency. Darius helped establish GTM to develop and launch creative programs that engage youth and young adult audiences worldwide. He shares his knowledge of building cutting edge businesses, by facilitating workshops for corporate and nonprofit marketers, conducting seminars and participating in panel discussions.
Courtney Counts is Partner & Executive Vice President of Partnerships & Possibilities for GTM, Inc. In this role, he creates and develops new business relationships and innovative partnerships that resonate with national and global audiences and deliver results. Viewed as a leader in the field of cross-cultural communications, Courtney has a history of marketing success in the general and multicultural market. Prior to joining GTM, he applied his "culture & consciousness" method of marketing and advertising at Burrell, for award-winning campaigns with Sprite, Coca Cola Classic, adidas, Hewlett-Packard and other global brands. Courtney has created many successful proprietary marketing concepts, including the INTERACTivist™ outreach model, GTM's winning approach to global consumer engagement. This method of direct interaction has helped GTM earn its reputation for global innovation, while bringing brands to life in the U.S., Mexico, South Africa, England, Brazil, China and France.
As Jr. Project Manager for GTM, Inc. Jason helps agency departments remain seamlessly synchronized, to satisfy and exceed client goals and objectives. Prior to joining GTM, Jason majored in Engineering Management and Marketing at The United States Military Academy and Georgia Southern University, respectively. After receiving his Marketing degree from Georgia Southern, he continued his education there, receiving his MBA from the university in 2010. Jason's "whatever it takes" work ethic, social media savvy and exemplary leadership skills are a driving force behind the successful and socially relevant marketing programs delivered by GTM.
Toni Davis has served as Human Resources/Operations Director at GTM, Inc. for 6 years. She has implemented a successful agency internship program, benefits package and strategic training process that compliments the objectives of GTM. Toni has 15 years of human resource experience for companies like, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor, Kmart Corporation and Iron Mountain. She is very familiar with employee/labor relations, performance management, recruitment, training & development, dispute resolution and building relationships amongst leadership teams. Toni is also the founder of "We Are HR", which educates current and prospective students on becoming human resources professionals. She holds a M.S.A. from Central Michigan University and is currently a candidate for a graduate certification in Training with Technology from Michigan State University.
Don Henry is the Director of Finance at GTM,Inc. He has over 25 years of advertising agency experience in financial and accounting operations. A CPA, Don has degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University. Married and the father of two daughters, Don says that he would rather account for the creative process and client services than count widgets. An Atlanta native, Don got his accounting career start with KPMG in Atlanta as an auditor. Advertising agencies he has worked for include Bates Advertising NA (WPP), where he assisted in the management of the Hyundai account. He was also Senior VP of Bates Travel and Tourism. Don is active in his church and enjoys travel, golf and reading…and the occasional adult beverage.
Janna C. Brown is a dynamic Account Supervisor with GTM, Inc. and has provided superior account management and client service for 12 years. As an A.S., Janna has managed monumental cause and commercial marketing campaigns like, truth® (American Legacy Foundation), Generation Free (Partnership for a Healthy Mississippi), Project LES/N (Humane Society of the United States), That's Not Cool (Family Violence Prevention Fund), Greater Than AIDS (Kaiser Family Foundation), Smirnoff, Sprite, XBOX 360, Tequila Don Julio and the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation, 2012 Ignite Celebration. Janna also manages GTM's excellent intern program, and develops new processes and procedures for various departments.
As the Senior Art Director for GTM, Alex is tasked with creating compelling work for all the accounts GTM serves. With his 12-year tenure as a DJ, his work has been instrumental in the creation of Master of the Mix, a DJ reality competition for Smirnoff. His credits on the show include writing, development, art direction and production for cross-platform creative used for all consumer touchpoints. In developing the concept and design for Kaiser Family Foundation's Greater Than AIDS campaign "Deciding Moments," Alex directed the photo shoots, designed logo treatments and assisted with the radio spots. He has also helped craft the look and feel for Smirnoff "Be There" events, Luster Products, and the Grady Health Foundation.
Walker is the Assistant Art Director for GTM, Inc. and works with the Senior Art Director to create campaigns for GTM's clients. Walker attended SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design) in Savannah, GA and soon after worked with Hartmann Studios for The Home Depot (Large-scale print for international trade show in 2008). Since joining GTM, Walker's work has helped create captivating campaigns for Smirnoff, Luster Products, truth®, and Greater Than AIDS.
B. Ray Sams is an award winning creative director with 20 years of results driven leadership experience. He's been called an "Organized strategic thinker with a passion for innovation, team building and animation." Prior to joining the team at GTM, Inc., Ray crafted the design vision for The Weather Channel© network programming. As Creative Director he was responsible for the management of weather graphics, traditional broadcast graphics and long-form graphics. During his career, he's developed a process that maximizes communication, productivity, design strategy and distribution of graphics across national, local and interactive television platforms. Accomplished in branded content development, real-time 3D graphics authoring, 360° promotion and graphic design, this Michigan State Alum is also a DJ and visual artist.
Suhailah Yoba serves as Vice-President, Account Management and Strategy for GTM, Inc. In her role, Suhailah manages the New York office and is the lead agency representative and marketing brand strategist. Among other accounts, Suhailah leads the Diageo Business, which includes Smirnoff and Don Julio. Prior to joining GTM in 2010, Suhailah worked at McCann Erickson where she supervised the day-to-day U.S. advertising initiatives for L'Oreal Cosmetics. At McCann, she also held the position of Manager of Global Operations on the Coca-Cola Company account, account executive for the Verizon Wireless business and worked on Branded Entertainment projects for Acuvue and Wendy's.Before joining McCann, Suhailah held management/executive level marketing positions for Bad Boy Entertainment, RCA Records and The Island Def Jam Music Group. She currently lives in Ft. Greene Brooklyn, New York.
Samantha Fennell is the VP of Branded Entertainment at GTM, Inc. and is responsible for developing partnerships and creating custom content opportunities with brands across multiple platforms. She has a 20 year track record driving sales and creating marketing partnerships for the world's premier media companies. Having worked in both start-up and established environments alike, her strategic approach to developing unique opportunities for brands has resulted in successes for clients spanning across diverse categories-from fashion and luxury to auto and telecommunications. Samantha most recently served as Executive Director at Time Inc. Branded Solutions, an integrated, full-service sales, marketing and creative department for Time Inc.'s largest advertisers. Prior to Time Inc. Samantha served as Executive Director, Sales at The Huffington Post and was the Associate Publisher of Elle Magazine during some of the strongest years at the title. Prior to Elle Samantha spent 8 years at Condé Nast Publications where she served as Advertising Director of Vogue Magazine and Corporate Fashion Director for Condé Nast Corporate.
Freddie Baez serves as National Director of Events with GTM, Inc. He is a 13-year veteran in the field of experiential marketing. Freddie specializes in both live brand activation and branded content for television. He has produced events for category industry leaders like Diageo (spirits), Comcast (cable industry), Viacom (television) and UFC (sports) and his events have delivered millions of global impressions. Freddie most recently served two seasons as event director for the Smirnoff branded content reality show, "Master of the Mix". He also generated over 250 million impressions in partnership with Smirnoff, for their global Nightlife Exchange Project, featuring Madonna. Freddie thrives on creating meaningful moments, curating cultural experiences and building beneficial bridges for brands.
Olivia Shanks, Associate Event Director of Events at GTM, Inc., has built a world of expertise in the development and execution of experiential brand activations and events. This expertise includes event activation for Tanqueray Rangpur, Sauza Tequila, Smirnoff Master of the Mix, Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange, Skinnygirl Cocktails, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Crown Royal, UFC, Axe, Degree, Cricket Wireless, and Boost Mobile. Olivia is also lifestyle specialist who is not only an experiential event director but also a top emerging fashion designer. In 2006, she launched women's wear line Imaginary People and in 2009 was named by GenArt as one of Chicago's Fresh Faces in Fashion and a 2010 brand to watch by Chicago Social Magazine. These experiences lend themselves to her current focus of brand building and development through the creation and execution of original and engaging consumer experiences that speak to niche cultural markets.
Shawn O. Howard is a Co‐Founder & Partner of GTM, Inc. Recently, Shawn has served in the capacity as Chief of Accounts and Strategy where he was tasked with account management, strategy, and overall fiscal management & financial oversight for GTM accounts. Shawn previously served as Managing Partner and as Group Director on GTM accounts such as truth® anti-tobacco campaign, Greater Than AIDS campaign, Heinz Ketchup, T-Mobile, Adidas, Sprite and Turner Broadcasting Systems (TBS). In his capacity as Group Director, Shawn's focuses included business development, brand management, fee proposal development, logistics and creative strategy. Shawn's expertise has proven an invaluable resource for GTM's cause marketing programs, where positive youth outreach is key.
